James Corfield joined the Coker staff as the assistant men’s and women’s tennis coach in August of 2014.
Corfield moved to the coaching ranks after a successful four-year career on the court for the Cobras. During his career he was a two-time all-conference selection, earning first team honors in 2014 along with doubles partner Andre Staab. He was also a two-time Academic All-Conference selection and a two-time team MVP.
Coker’s all-time leader in singles and doubles victories, Corfield finished his career with 43 singles victories and 51 doubles victories. He also holds the single season record for wins in both singles and doubles play, earning 18 wins in both during the 2013 season.
A native of Auckland, New Zealand, Corfield earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from Coker in May 2014.
