Cobra Women Begin Play at the ITA Fall Regional

SUMTER, S.C.  – The Coker College women's tennis team began play at the ITA Fall Regional on Friday (Sept. 28) at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C.

In the women's singles A division, Daniela Chipe lost a hard fought three-set match to Ivana Marevic, 7-5, 0-6, 6-1. Also competing the A division was freshman Sarah Elliott. She dropped her opening round match to Carolina Hernandez of Young Harris, 6-2, 6-1.

In the women's singles B. Anna Musiyenko lost 6-2, 6-1 to Rebecca Bruning of Anderson, and Kyria Borelli fell to Brooke Ingram of Belmont Abbey, 6-2, 6-4.

During doubles play, Chipe and Elliott lost to Diana Dimarco and Aimee Dorley of Young Harris 8-1 in the doubles A division, while Musiyenko and Borelli dropped an 8-0 match to Krista Ingrilli and Kelly Stewart of Flager 8-0 in the doubles B division.

The Cobras will continue action at the ITA Fall Regional through Sunday.
