In her first season at the helm, Kent led the Cobras to nine wins and a trip to the South Atlantic Conference Championship semifinals in just their second season as a program. In all, she had five players earn All-SAC honors and three AstroTurf SAC Player of the Week recipients.
Chelsea Kent joined the Coker women's lacrosse coaching staff in the spring of 2013. She was promoted to interim head coach in July 2014.
During the 2014 season, Kent helped lead the Cobras to a record of 3-10. In their inaugural season in the South Atlantic Conference, four Cobras earned All-SAC honors: Kaitlyn Kimball (1st Team), Hayley Ferone and Mackenzie Baker (2nd Team) and Mandy Lopez (Honorable Mention). Baker also earned Coker Freshman of the Year honors.
A highly talented high school and college player, Kent played Division I lacrosse at St. Francis University (Pa.) from 2008-2010. During her time at St. Francis she set several records. She is No. 5 all-time in total points in a season (52), No. 6 all-time in assists in a season (17), No. 4 all-time in goals in a season (39), No. 4 all-time in career points (96), No. 5 all-time in career assists (30) and No. 4 all-time in career goals (66). She was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week in 2009.
A native of Winter Springs, Fla., Kent played high school lacrosse for Steve Efland at Winter Springs High School.
Prior to her time at Coker she served as the head coach at Orangewood Christian School in Orlando and was the director of the Hericanes Lacrosse Club.
