HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College head men’s and women’s tennis coach, Tim Pleasant, has resigned his position at Coker to pursue other career opportunities.
Pleasant departs from Coker after just one season as the leader of the Coker men’s and women’s tennis teams. Both teams saw improved seasons under Pleasant’s direction with the women finishing 10-10 and the men finishing at 6-13. He also coached Coker’s first ever Conference Carolinas Women’s Tennis Player of the Year, Alyssa Blanchard, during his tenure.
“I would like to thank the administration at Coker for giving me the opportunity to be a head coach for the Cobras,” said Pleasant. “It has been an honor to be a part of such a great college and athletic program.”
In addition to his coaching duties Pleasant was also a tennis instructor at the College and in the Hartsville community. His presence in the tennis community will be greatly missed.
“It was a very difficult decision to leave, but I have to do what is best for me and my family. I wish everyone at Coker all the best, especially my players, in all of their future endeavors.”
Coker will begin an immediate nationwide search for a new coach.
