HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's tennis team shutout the Lees-McRae Bobcats earning a 9-0 win in its first Conference Carolinas match of the season. The victory moves the Cobras to 4-2 on the year and 1-0 in league play.
The Cobras lost just seven total sets during the entire match and had nine straight set victories. The No. 1 doubles combo of Andre Staab and George Handy, as well as the No. 2 tandem of Tom Sizeland and William Marrafao both earned 8-1 wins in their doubles matches, while James Corfield and Martin Moncayo picked up an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles.
The Cobras won all six singles matches, including straight set victories by Staab, Corfield and Moncayo.
Coker will be back on the court on Sunday (March 3) for their second conference match of the weekend at home against King University. The match will begin at 11 a.m.
