Coker Shuts Out Johnson C. Smith 9-0

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Coker men's tennis team picked up their first shut out victory of the season with a perfect 9-0 win over Johnson C. Smith on Saturday. The win improves the Cobras to 2-2 on the season.

Jeremy Curtis (Chesterfield, S.C.) and Manel Estruga (Spain) earned a perfect 9-0 win at No. 2 doubles, while James Corfield (New Zealand) and Ricardo Perez (Corpus Christi, Texas) picked up an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles.

Corfield, Estruga and Guillermo Alyon (Spain) each had 6-0, 6-0 victories at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 singles.

The Cobras will be back on the courts on Sunday against Francis Marion University. Match time is scheduled for 2 p.m. at FMU.
