Tirkkonen Named Conference Carolinas Player of the Week

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College's Niko Tirkkonen has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Player of the Week, the conference announced today.

Tirkkonen, a senior defender, helped the Cobras to a 2-0 week, as they defeated King College (1-0) and Pfeiffer University (2-0). Tirkkonen blasted the game-winning goal against King and added the insurance goal in the win over Pfeiffer.

With three goals now on the season, last week's performance helped Tirkkonen climb to first on the team in goals scored.

The men's soccer team (4-2, 2-0 Conference Carolinas) returns to action Wednesday in a non-conference tilt at Francis Marion. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
