LAURINBURG, N.C. – Liam Kyle (Cleveland, Ohio) scored a game high 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds earning the game’s only double-double in Coker’s 84-77 win over St. Andrews Presbyterian College on Thursday night in Conference Carolinas men’s basketball action.

Also leading the Cobras to victory were Tom Wright (Sydney, Australia) and Vatrick Thompson (Columbia, S.C.) with Wright coming just one rebound short of a double-double of his own with 16 points and nine rebounds, while Thompson knocked down 18.

Coker shot 52.5 percent from the floor compared to the Knight’s 44.8 percent, however St. Andrews did hold the advantage beyond the arc hitting 9-of-21 (42.9%) while Coker hit 5-of-13 (38.5%).

The first half of play was tightly contested with 14 lead changes in 20 minutes of play. The Cobras held just a one point lead at the break, but after trailing by as much as eight points with nine minutes left in the game Coker battled back to take the 84-77 win.

Coker’s next game will be on Tuesday, Feb. 22 at home against Pfeiffer University at 7:30 p.m. Prior to tip-off the Cobras will honor their five seniors in their senior night activities.
