Nick Callahan joined the Coker baseball staff as the pitching coach in August of 2013.

Callahan came to Coker after three seasons at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.  He has worked primarily with the pitchers during his time with the Spartans, including in 2011 when the team earned the first NCAA Tournament berth in program history.

Under Callahan’s tutelage in 2011, the CWRU pitching staff lowered its earned run average by .87 from the prior season while producing three University Athletic Association Athletes of the Week and an ABCA All-Mideast Region selection.

In addition to his duties at Case Western, Callahan served as the head coach of the Geneva Twins in the New York Collegiate Baseball League during the summer of 2013.

Prior to joining the staff at CWRU, Callahan served for two seasons as pitching coach and recruiting assistant at Finger Lakes Community College. During his time, the team won the Mid-State Athletic Conference Title.

As a player, Callahan pitched collegiately at Western Connecticut State University. As a freshman, he posted a 5-0 record with a 2.60 earned run average before seeing his career cut short due to injury.

Callahan earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from SUNY-Brockport in 2007.
