In his first season leading the pitching staff, Meinhold's pitchers had a 4.90 team ERA, allowing 251 runs in 371 innings with 243 strikeouts. As a staff the Cobras averaged 5.89 strikeouts per game. Sophomore right-hander Andrew Goot was named Conference Carolinas Pitcher of the Week and DII National Pitcher of the Week.
Meinhold joined the Cobras staff in August of 2011, after
serving as the pitching coach at Lindenwood University for a
season.
Prior to his time at Lindenwood, Meinhold served as the pitching
coach at his alma mater Drury University for one season before
pursuing a professional playing career. Meinhold played
professionally for the San Diego Padres and then spent time
in the Australian Winter League playing for the South Australia
State Team, a San Deigo Padres affiliate. He then played for two
seasons in the Frontier League, playing for the Windy City
Thunderbolts and the Gateway Grizzles.
As a collegiate player at Drury, Meinhold was the first pitcher to
play professional baseball in school history. He was also a Great
Lakes Valley Conference All-Academic Team member and he holds the
record for most consecutive innings without an earned run,
32.2.
Meinhold holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Sport and Science
from Drury and an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from West
Valley College.
He is currently pursuing a Master's degree at Coker in College Sports Administration.
