Hartsville, S.C. - The Coker Cobras Baseball Team scored runs in seven out of nine innings on their way to a 14-9 defeat of the St. Augustine College Falcons in a non-conference baseball match-up on Tuesday afternoon. The win improves the Cobras to 6-6 on the year.

Coker held a commanding 8-1 lead through five innings, but the Falcons posted four runs in the sixth to cut the lead to just three runs. The Cobras answered with four runs of their own on a pair of RBI triples from Kyle Walker (Centrailia, IL) and BK Harfst (Arvada, CO), an RBI double from Trey Lynch (Florence, SC) and an RBI single Karl Ankersen (Mt. Pleasant, SC), giving Coker a 12-5 lead. St. Augustine and Coker traded runs in the seventh and the Falcons plated three runs in the eighth, while the Cobras scored just one.

Justin Collier (Laurens, SC) (1-0) earned the win for Coker, allowing just one run on two hits in five innings of work.

Daniel Moore took the loss for St. Augustine, allowing seven runs on eight hits in four innings of work.

Leading the Cobras at the plate was Harfst, going 4-for-5 with two triples, a double, five RBIs and a run scored, while Walker was 3-for-4 with a pair of triples, two RBIs and two runs scored. Nate Donovan (Matthews, NC) was 3-for-6 with two doubles, two RBIs and a run scored, and Ankersen finished the day 2-for-4 with an RBI, two runs scored, and three stolen bases.

For the Falcons, Moore was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, while Rashad Ingram was 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI And three runs scored. Clyde Fuller came off the bench to go 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored for St. Augustine.

The Cobras return to the diamond on Wednesday, as they travel to Augusta, GA, to face the Augusta State Jaguars at 2:00 p.m.
