Coker’s Gore and Wright Named to NABC Honor Court

Hartsville, S.C. – Coker College men’s basketball players, Michael Gore (Landis, N.C.) and Thomas Wright (Sydney, Australia), have been given a prestigious honor this summer, as both student-athletes were selected for the 2009-10 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honor Court. Gore and Wright are in elite company, as just 10 men’s basketball players from Conference Carolinas were selected to receive this award. Read the full story.

Coker’s Ambler Named NABC Second Team All-District

KANSAS CITY, MO. (March 17, 2010) -- The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced today the NABC Division II All-District teams and coaches, recognizing the best men’s collegiate basketball student-athletes and coaches in the division. Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, these student-athletes represent the finest basketball players across America. Ambler Named First Team All-Conference

HIGH POINT, N.C. - Conference Carolinas announced the All-Conference Teams, Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, and Freshmen of the Year award winners in conjunction with the Conference Carolinas Basketball Tournament Championships that will begin this weekend. Mount Olive Eliminates Coker from Conference Tourney with 95-75 Win

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – Mount Olive’s Kendrick Easley scored a game high 29 points as the the top-seeded Trojans defeated No. 8 seed Coker 95-75 in the first round of the 2010 Conference Carolinas Men’s Basketball Tournament Tuesday at Kornegay Arena. Mount Olive used a 22-0 run in the first half to overcome an early deficit and opened the second half with a 17-2 run to break away from a 12-point halftime lead. Read the full story.
