2013 Coker College Homecoming

This week marks the 2013 Coker Homecoming week. Several events will occur throughout the week, culminating with a jam-packed weekend (Oct. 5-6) full of alumni games, volleyball matches, soccer matches and the 2013 Athletics Hall of Fame induction. 2013 Taste of Coker

Women’s Soccer

  • This week’s matches:
    • Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. (H)- Converse – Youth Clinic
    • Saturday at 1:30 p.m. (H)- Catawba – Homecoming
  • Last week’s matches:
    • Lenoir-Rhyne (L) – 3-0
    • Queens (L) – 2-0
  • This week the Cobra women will play host to Converse College in a non-conference match on Tuesday, followed by a conference match against Catawba on Saturday in their 2013 Homecoming match. Prior to Tuesday’s match the women will host a free youth soccer clinic at 4 p.m. For more information on the youth clinic call 843-383-8203.

Men’s Soccer

  • This week’s matches:
    • Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. (H) – Mount Olive
    • Saturday at 4:00 p.m. (H) – Catawba – Homecoming
  • Last week’s matches:
    • Lenoir-Rhyne (W) – 2-0
    • Queens (L) – 1-0 (2OT)
  • The regionally ranked No. 5 Coker men’s team will host Mount Olive in a non-conference match on Wednesday, and then it will host Catawba in a SAC match on Saturday as part of the 2013 Coker Homecoming festivities.  

Women’s Volleyball

  • This week’s matches:
    • Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. (H)-  #14 Wingate
    • Friday at 6:00 p.m. (H)- Lenoir-Rhyne - Homecoming
    • Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (H)- Brevard - Homecoming
  • Last week’s matches:
    • Lincoln Memorial (L) – 3-0
    • Carson-Newman (L) – 3-0
  • This week the women’s volleyball team plays host to three South Atlantic Conference matches. The Cobras will host No. 14 Wingate, Lenoir-Rhyne and Brevard.

Men’s & Women’s Cross Country

  • This week’s meet:
    • Friday at Bridgestone-Pacer Invitational in Aiken, S.C.  
  • Last week’s meet:
    • None
  • After a week off, the Cobras will hit the road to compete in the Bridgestone-Pacer Invitational hosted by USC Aiken.

Men’s & Women’s Golf

  • This week’s tournament:
    • Men’s Golf: Monday - Tuesday at Aflac/Cougar Invitational in Columbus, Ga.
  • Last week’s tournament:
    • Women’s Golf: Lander Lady Bearcat Invitational – 16 of 18
  • Last week the women’s golf team competed in the Lander Lady Bearcat Invitational at the Old South Golf Course in Hilton Head, S.C. Mallory Thompkins led the way for the women with a top 20 finish. This week the men’s team travels to Columbus, Ga. for the Aflac/Cougar Invitational. Last year the Cobras finished fifth at the Aflac/Cougar Invitational.
