Women’s Basketball
- This week’s games:
- Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. (A)- Barton
- Saturday at 2:00 p.m. (H)- Belmont Abbey
- Last week’s games:
- Mount Olive– 58-44 (L)
- North Greenville- 78-56 (L)
- The Cobra women will finish their three game road trip on
Wednesday when they travel to Barton College. They will then return
to the friendly confines of Timberlake-Lawton to take on Belmont
Abbey College on Saturday.
Men’s Basketball
- This week’s games:
- Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. (A)- Barton
- Saturday at 4:00 p.m. (H)- Belmont Abbey
- Last week’s games:
- Morris– 92-87 (L) 2OT
- Mount Olive- 70-64 (L)
- North Greenville- 90-70 (W)
- Last week the Coker men picked up a decisive 90-70 win over
North Greenville to end their week. This week they will look to
continue that trend with a pair of Conference Carolinas games at
Barton on Wednesday and at home against Belmont Abbey on
Saturday.
Baseball
- This week’s games:
- Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. (H)- Paine
- Saturday at 12:00 p.m. (H)- Anderson (DH)
- Sunday at 1:00 a.m. (H)- Anderson
- Last week’s games:
- St. Augustine’s- 9-1 (L)
- Chowan- 3-2 (L)- 10 innings, 6-5 (L), 4-3 (L), 5-4 (W)
- This week the Cobra baseball team will play another four games
at home, starting with Paine College on Tuesday and ending with a
three-game series with Anderson University on Saturday and
Sunday.
Softball
- This week’s games:
- Friday at 1:00 p.m. (H)- Mars Hill (DH)
- Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (H)- Wingate (DH)
- Sunday at 2:00 p.m. (A)- Newberry (DH)
- This week the Coker softball team opens their 2012 season with
six games starting at home on Friday afternoon against Mars Hill.
Friday could be a historic day for the softball program, as Coach
David Hanna goes for his 700th career victory. All of
his victories have come at Coker in just 21 years leading the
Cobras. Entering the season, Coach Hanna is ranked No. 11 in the
NCAA as one of the Winningest Coaches of All-Time. He is ranked No.
3 in NCAA Division II.
Lacrosse
- This week’s games:
- Friday at 6:00 p.m. (H)- Shorter
- The long awaited first ever Coker lacrosse game will take place
this week, as the Cobras host Shorter College on Friday night. The
historic first game will take place at the Cobras home field, the
football field at Byerly Park in Hartsville.
Men’s & Women’s Tennis
- This week’s matches:
- Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. (A)- North Greenville
- Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. (H) – North Georgia
- Friday at 2:30 p.m. (A) – Winston-Salem State
- Sunday at 1:30 p.m. (H)- USC-Aiken- USTA Campus Kids Day
- The Coker tennis teams begin their seasons this week with four
matches; two on the road and two at home. Included in those matches
is a very special day for any children interested in tennis, USTA
Campus Kids Day. The Cobras will be hosting Campus Kids Day on
Sunday during their match against USC-Aiken. Any middle- or
grade-school students can attend this day to learn about tennis,
have fun, eat free food and win prizes. For more information on
Campus Kids Day contact tennis head coach Tom Simpson at
383-8076.
