Cobra Spotlight

Men’s Soccer

• This week’s matches:
  • Thursday at 7:00 p.m. (H) – Barton- Pause for Paws Night
  • Saturday at 4:00 p.m. (H) – Shorter- Homecoming

• Last week’s matches:
  • Francis Marion (W) – 1-0 (2OT)
  • Lees-McRae (L) – 1-0

• The men played two tough overtime matches last week, going 1-1, with a 1-0 win over local rival Francis Marion. This week the Cobras will host the Bulldogs of Barton College on Thursday in their first Conference Carolinas match of the season at home. Then they will host Shorter College in their 2012 Homecoming match on Saturday.

Women’s Soccer

• This week’s matches:
  • Thursday at 4:30 p.m. (H) – Barton- Pause for Paws Night
  • Saturday at 1:30 p.m. (H) – USC-Aiken- Homecoming

• Last week’s matches
  • Converse (W) – 3-1
  • Lees-McRae (L) – 2-0

• After a convincing 3-1 win over Converse at home last week, the Cobra women will be looking to add to the win column with two home matches this week. The first against Barton on Thursday, followed by the 2012 Homecoming match against USC-Aiken on Saturday.

Women’s Volleyball

• This week’s matches:
  • Friday at 7:00 p.m. (A) – Limestone
  • Saturday at 2:00 p.m. (A) – Lees-McRae

• Last week’s matches:
  • Belmont Abbey (L) – 3-0
  • King (W) – 3-2
  • North Greenville (L) – 3-1

• This week the Cobras will hit the road as they travel to Limestone College and Lees-McRae for a pair of Conference Carolinas matches on Friday and Saturday.

Men’s & Women’s Cross Country

• This week’s meet:
  • Pre-Conference Meet at Charlotte, N.C. – Oct. 5

• Last week’s meet:
  • UNC Charlotte Invitational- women 33 of 33, men 27 of 35

• The Cobra cross country teams will run in the Pre-Conference meet this week, getting a preview of what is to come at the 2013 Conference Carolinas Championship Meet later this month.

Men’s Golf

• This week’s tournament:
  • Cougar Invitational at Columbus Ga. – Oct. 1-2

• Last week’s tournament:
  • Jay Jenson Memorial – 3^rd

• The Coker men will be on the hunt for their third straight top five finish this week at the Cougar Invitational hosted by Columbus State. Last week, Coker captured its second straight third place finish at the Jay Jenson Memorial.

Women’s Golf

• This week’s tournament:
  • None

• Last week’s tournament:
  • Bearcat Invitational – 12^th

• The Coker women placed 12^th at the Bearcat Invitational in Hilton Head over the weekend. Mallory Thompkins had the lowest score of the two-day event for the Cobras, firing a 161 (+17).
