Cobras Run in Charlotte Invitational

Charlotte, N.C. – The Coker cross country teams competed in the 2009 Charlotte Invitational over the weekend hosted by UNC-Charlotte. In the mostly division I meet, the Cobras finished 21st in both the men’s and women’s meets.

Leading the Cobra men was Quinn Wenger (Sumter, S.C.) with a time of 31:09, followed by Thad Sulek (Hilton Head, S.C.) at 31:10. Austin McJunkins (Walhalla, S.C.) came in at 31:45 and Britian Tomlinson (Rock Hill, S.C.) finished at 31:50. Rounding out the Cobra men was Andrew Caputa (Germany) with a time of 35:23.

In the women’s race Samantha Fletcher (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) led the way with a time of 20:46, with Dana Daves (York, S.C.) finishing at 21:16 and Aliese Gregory (Aiken, S.C.) coming in at 22:34. Alex Ochoa (Pamplico, S.C.) had a time of 23:13, followed by Caitlyn Driscoll (Grand Island, N.Y.) with a time of 23:24 and Amy Jones (Hurricane, W.Va.) with a time of 26:02.

Coker will now prepare for their next meet, the Conference Carolinas Championships on Friday, October 23 at Queens University of Charlotte.
